Dr. R. Winston Mazakis was called to be the pastor of Northside Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in December 1998. Dr. Mazakis is of a Greek origin, but he was born in the Middle East. He spent most of his first twenty-five years in the city of Beirut, Lebanon, where he came to know Christ as his personal Savior, on the 1st of September 1959. He graduated from the Beirut Baptist School, a missionary high school, earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from the American University of Beirut, and studied law at the French St. Joseph University of Beirut and the Lebanese University for two years. He earned his Law degree from LaSalle Extension University, Chicago, a Master's degree in Education with concentration in history from Indiana University, and a doctor's degree of Religious education from Bethany Theological Seminary in Dothan, Alabama. His doctoral works covered the fields of Law, Education and Theology. Also, he taught Middle Eastern History for four years in the city of Beirut.

In 1967, he came to the United States to work at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, as a translator and interpreter; however, the Lord changed the direction of his life into full time evangelism.

Dr. Mazakis speaks several languages. He translated and wrote

several books, booklets and articles in Arabic, English and French: languages he speaks fluently. His ministry has carried him to 46 countries world wide holding revivals, evangelistic meetings, prophecy conferences and seminars. Three of the books he wrote are:

1. Nations of Bible Prophecy

2. Those Two Covenants
3. The Blood of the Everlasting Covenant

4. The Rapture I

5. The Day of the Lord

6. Finally the New Benning

Tens of thousands of his outreach books are being printed and distributed in 89 countries world-wide.

Dr. Mazakis is also the president of the Middle East Mission, Inc., and of the Institute of Biblical and International Studies.

By the way, Dr. Mazakis is believed to be the first person ever to pastor an American church and an Arabic church at the same time, for he also pastors the Chicago Arabic Baptist Church that ministers to the different ethnic Middle Easterners who come from Iraq, Jordon, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Tunisia, Lybia, Yemen, the Persian Gulf area, and other Middle Eastern countries.

Dr. Mazakis got married to the former Jean E. Snyder on November 1, 1969, and that union has resulted in four dear children: Ric, Rob, Angie, and Liz.
