Dr. R. W. Mazakis confering the degree of Ph.D. In religion upon Pastor Cary Coleman of Pittsford, MI, during the graduation ceremonies of the Freedom Farm Bible College, of which, Pastor Coleman is also president On May 15, 2005
"When the senior pastor of my church left a brochure on my desk explaining the Institute of Biblical and International Studies I became intrigued with the instructional format. I would be able to invest my time in the serious study of God's word and not superficial filler. The lectures would be presented by a man I have come to respect greatly over the years, Dr. Winston Mazakis. As my studies progressed the element that became most prominent was the realization that some of my theology contained a distinctly "American" flavor. It was revealing, as well as refreshing, to hear the clear teaching of Scripture without a cultural slant. I highly recommend this course of study for those who seek to master the weightier doctrines of the Bible."
Cary Coleman

In a graduation ceremony, attended by a large crowd of friends and acquaintances, held at a rented auditorium, at the Near East Theological Seminary, close to the American University of Beirut, uptown Beirut, the degree of Doctor of Sacred Theology was conferred upon Elias Melke of Beirut, Lebanon, on August 6, 2004.
Dr. Elias Melke wrote:
"Even though I only heard of Dr. Mazakis and of the Institute, I was curious enough to enroll in the Institute, and I am grateful to God that I did. Despite the fact that I lived half way around the world, in the city of Beirut, I continued to enjoy the care, supervision and the personal encouragement of Dr. Mazakis, right from the beginning of the course till the end. As I studied the lessons that were given, I felt that I was soaking in all that great Bible knowledge, wishing that all Bible students around the world would enroll in the Institute of Biblical and International Studies to get the great education I have received and have enjoyed greatly. The Bible prophecies that we studied in the course, concurring with current events were timely, most fascinating and thought-provoking. I always felt excited about every one of the lessons that I studied; for every lesson was exciting, timely and appropriate to the age we are living in. Also, I appreciated the humble spirit of my professor, Dr. Mazakis whom I finally met when he flew all the way to Beirut, to confer on me the earned degree."

On October 24, 2004, Pastor Richard Helderop received the Doctor of Divinity Degree in a festive atmosphere at Dorr Baptist Church, Dorr, Mi.

What Students and graduates say about the course:

Hebrews 12:3-4
"The impact of Dr. Mazakis teaching in my life is immeasurable. Apart from the influence of my dad and pastor, Dr. Ronnie Simpson, the teaching, preaching, and conversations I have been exposed to by being associated with Dr. Mazakis have had a more positive affect upon my preaching and teaching than any other author or teacher I have ever read after or studied under. The content of his teaching informs the student of unique ideas and viewpoints while provoking the spiritual mind to hunger for deeper knowledge, to press beyond the average overstated commentary and grasp weightier matters of truth.
Many doctrines, preferences, ideologies, etc. held by modern believers find their constitution in the opinions and prejudices of men and not upon the sole authority of the Scriptures. Dr. Mazakis has most assuredly
confirmed in my mind that any belief that cannot be substantiated by Scripture alone, is a belief that can not be confidently defended.
The quality of material presented by the Institute of International and Biblical Studies is second to none. A thorough application of ones self to this program of study will consequently develop in any bible student the ability to earnestly and effectively contend for the faith!"
Dr.Andy Simpson,
Administrator of Carolina Bible College, Concord, NC
"I was told that a man from the Middle East would be speaking in a church in our area concerning Bible prophecy. As a Bible student, teacher and historian, I was interested to hear a different perspective.
"I went to hear him speak and was so overwhelmed by his observations and application of scripture, that I went back to hear him every night of the meetings. I had been teaching history and Bible for several years but had never had so many Biblical principles connected for me in a way that was so
fascinating. I had been looking for a way to bring life into my daily devotions and an interesting way to study God's Word. So, when I found out that I could study under Dr. Mazakis through the Institute of Biblical and International Studies, I immediately enrolled.
"I was raised in a Christian home and brought up in mainstream Baptist doctrines. I graduated from a Christian high school and received degrees from a fundamental, conservative Bible college. I taught history and Bible classes and preached for many years, yet every lesson in the course either showed me something I had never seen in God's Word before, or it edified my faith in a Truth already established in my life. The instruction and education provided by Dr. Mazakis through the
course revolutionized my Biblical study and comprehension. By the grace of God I have more boldness to proclaim God's Word than I have had at any other point in my ministry, not just because of the confidence that comes with knowing the Truth, but in the ability to demonstrate it through the Bible. The lessons are strictly scripture based, beautifully woven together
with recorded history and other scripture. The material is laid out methodically and practically so that it is interesting and easily absorbed. Beyond the vast amount of information and wisdom that Dr. Mazakis shares in his curriculum, the most valuable thing I found from taking the course is that the true joy of reading the Bible and understanding the mind of Christ is limited only by my lack of study.
"Due to family and ministry responsibilities, it took many years for me to complete the course. But brother Mazakis encouraged me along the way and would not allow me to quit when it seemed there was no way to finish. I truly believe that because of the Bible training received from Dr. Mazakis through the Institute of
Biblical and International Studies, my wife has a better husband, my children have a better father and my church has a better pastor. It is an honor for our church to send
monthly support to brother Mazakis and the Middle East Mission for the work he is accomplishing for the Lord.

I will never forget the first time I met Dr. Mazakis. I was attending an Illinois State Fellowship meeting, where he was scheduled to speak. As he spoke that day, he did not preach any new truths, but his ability to preach the Word with great clarity made old truths come alive. Following the service, I met with Dr. Mazakis and asked him to come to the church where I was serving as Pastor, to preach to my people. When he arrived we went to the Public Library, where he posed some very significant questions to me. I found myself unable to answer his questions using the Bible, something that surprised and troubled me at the same time.
I decided that it was time for me to do some real soul-searching. I asked myself how a Pastor, who was raised in a solidly Christian home, with God-fearing parents, and a home where God was always exalted not know the answers to these questions. You see, everything that I had learned was rooted on what someone had taught me, not based solely on what God teaches in His Holy Word. I knew that something had to change if I was to be the man of God He had called me to be.
Immediately upon entering the Institute of Biblical and International Studies I was greatly challenged and encouraged by Gods Word. The education provided to me by both the Institute and Dr. Mazakis has forever changed my methods of Bible Study, while increasing my comprehension of Gods Word. God has used my studies to give me greater boldness and a stronger confidence that comes only from knowing the truth of the scriptures.
I would like to greatly encourage men of God young and old who truly desire to study Gods Word to seriously consider a regimen of study at the Institute of Biblical and International Studies. I can think of no greater place for truth seekers to begin a quest for deep Bible understanding, in an atmosphere of encouragement, filled with the challenges that are the building blocks of future victories in the name of Jesus Christ.
